So a customer here has a issue with rendering one of my files with mpeg2 decoder, this is how he describes it;

“during the MPEG2 DVD render, it starts fine and after about 4 minutes it advances all the way to the end instantly with completion” “No memory notices or any other note”

I don’t know why but i assumed something memory wise (32pbc) or ‘main’ ‘level’ settings in the mpeg2 render settings. So i let him check those and it works. Really odd error though was wondering if anyone came across this.

What i found very weird is that my suggestions worked and he was able to render it with no problems after it .. but honestly, it was more of a guess on my part.

usually if video skips to end like that it means the entire file wasn’t actually rendered, and so the mpg index code tags (forgot specific name of them) don’t index remux etc correctly… I’d have him render it in a couple of pieces and check each of those, instead of 1 20 minute file use timeline render workspace first 10 mins then 2nd 10 mins and check each
