I have to say that I’m thrilled for the iPad! I read regular newspaper every morning but don’t want to switch my subscription with an online version I have to read on my laptop. It’s just not as comfortable and it feels wrong that early in the morning to turn on my mac already ;-) I also don’t like the way news are made up for the web compared to a regular n ewspaper…

I think the iPad is a great for reading newspaper and checking mails and graphicriver at the same time ;-) It also let’s me subscribe to foreign newspapers waaaaay more easily and much cheaper!

Did anyone ever doubt that the lack of a camera in the first iPad revealed was anything more than a ploy to be able to offer an “upgraded” version at a higher price without doing anything more than adding about 30 centsworth of hardware?

Haha, I assure you it’s not restricted to Apple. :)

Of course not. I remember well how Borland once made a huge performance improvement between two versions of Turbo Pascal (5 and 6 I think … yeah, I’ve been programming a looong time ;) ). According to someone I knew who worked at Borland at the time they hobbled the later version before releasing it by programming in delays so that they could claim further performance increases in later releases by simply removing the delays
