Hi just checking if anyone notice something strange with the rating system lately ? I made a bunch of sales in the last couple of months but I’ve not seen any new rating since then on my portfolio from those sales, it’s just coincidence or someone else notice it too ?

Thanks

Buyers don’t have that habit to rate items , i think that there is nothing wrong with the rating system :)

Yes, I can only agree! Maybe many buyers simply forget to rate those items after they have bought them or maybe they don’t think it is necessary…

But there actually were some buyers in the past who asked me how to deal with that ratings, so maybe there has something to be changed with the rating system!

Yes, I think the buyer should be prompted to rate the song after he/she buying an item, maybe via e-mail, like a remainder…Just an idea.

Email reminders are a great idea.

I don’t know, sometimes people like their privacy, and e-mail reminders may upset them. I know I can’t stand it when a company starts e-mailing me after I purchase something from them. That could just be me though. I think the best bet is to leave things the way they are. If a customer really wants to rate, then they will. If they don’t, then they won’t. Just the way it goes. Now, the other possibility would be to give those who buy an incentive to rate. Maybe offer them a small discount towards their next purchase or something. Just a thought.

If you need privacy then you opt out of email notices. Pretty standard and simple enough IMO :). I think a single reminder after a couple weeks would be great. I know elance does something similiar. Either way you can’t force a customer to do anything they don’t want so this could end up not making a difference at all lol.

I forgot about the opt out option. Good call. Reminder emails sound like the way to go.

Most often if the customer puts the rating that it puts a good rating. Maybe other buyers simply do not want to spoil the evaluation of our tracks =)))
