It would be awesome to do this full-time, however it’s just not feasible.
What we are doing though is revamping eLIONWEB and any paid plugins or themes that we release will be on these sites and we’re going to have a dedicated sub-domain for that so not to mix it up with the rest of our services.
I think it’s important to focus on one area in your business/freelancing/whatever, but if you want to offer a lot (as I do), then to create separate domains or sub-domains for each service so that site can be dedicated to whichever service you choose for it.
I was doing scripting for After Effects,Sony Vegas, Premiere and Apple Motion for almost 3 years for my earlier job with a decent pay here in India.Though i took this job for doing motion graphics. But it couldn’t satisfy my creative part. So i quit the job and now full time envato author. Also i do lot of freelance projects.
Since January I’m working fulltime as a Webdesigner. Envato is currently the most important “job”, but I have local and worldwide website requests which I do regularly.
I quit my full-time job two weeks ago, and started focusing my work on Envato and some other freelance job.
I just finished a year of being unemployed except for my Envato – AudioJungle stuff. I made a total of between $3 – 4 K this year with AudioJungle. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to live on, and fortunately, I just got hired by Lockheed-Martin to work on the F-35 and I am in the middle of moving from Arizona to Texas right now. I just uploaded my last track that will be written in Arizona. The next one will be written in Texas and won’t be uploaded until near the end of September as I will be without my computer for a couple of weeks.
Videohive is a full time job for me for a long period of the year, but when a freelance work comes up, I take a break. If there wasnt videohive I probably would be almost an unemployed, as many people here.
I’m still a student so I can’t work fulltime on the Envato marketplaces.
But I’m working multiple hours a day!
