Hi guys ,
I wanted to know if that happen to you.
When I code stuff , I have some really big pain in the right arm (hand I use the mouse).
I bought that : http://www.ergorest.fi/images/330_000_hr.jpg
and I have a gel pad for my wrist for my mouse and for my keyboard and a good chair too.
Whan I design in Photoshop , it’s ok , when I surf the web , it’s ok but when I code it’s different .. someone have this problem ?
I’m pretty sure I’m going to get RSI when I’m older , I do have days when my shoulders / arms / fingers hurt from doing the same thing repetively.
Best advice I could give you is to take a rest every now and again and if you find it happening constantly then look into the way your sitting. You posture can be a problem if your not setup right , I tend to find that if I’m slouched i have a lot more pain in these areas than when i sit upright.
I to have sometimes pain in my arm when coding.
But a few months ago I bought another chair whit arm support, actually a basic office chair (like one for a CEO :D) and since then my arm doesn’t hurt anymore

Yup I got the same problem here. It got worse when i got my 22” widescreen because you have to sit more to the back and less space on my desk.
Most doctor websites say that optimizing your workspace and taking breaks are the best way. I’m thinking of buying some weight’s or a powerball to train my arm a little bit.

True… pain cause by long exposure to desk work cannot be treated with an arm rest thing
My gear :
Be Active!
Strengthen up your arms and wrists, and you should be good, but I’m no doctor.
I suppose if it gets worse, go see your doc!

It’s called repetitive strain injury – injured my hand for 3 weeks after attempting to play all songs on Guitar Hero Metalica (true story) thought I had carpal tunnel syndrome but after like a month my hand was back to normal LOL … damn you Metalica and your complicated riffs.
Solution: take a break every 45 min if you doing something repitive with your hands like typing, using a mouse, guitar hero etc…. maybe start smoking so you’ll have something to do every 45 mins
