I guess you have enough information now.
The one advice I did not found on the thread (might have overlooked it) is this: go to a doctor. You are talking about your hands and those are your tools, and you are going to need them. So go visit a doctor. It is the best thing to do.
But I still want to add some information to the thread. You might want to take a look at this:
Hope that helps.
- Here is some information from a Harvard’ Student group on RSI :
- A site about RSI
- And a PDF as a reminder:
Thanks ! This will help me a lot !
Today I tried to usee my left hand with the mouse .. and it worked really well !
my right hand position is way better because when my mouse is right to the keyboard .. I have to make big movement if I want to type because there is all the number and arrow on the right of the keyboard ..
2 months after you posted this thread: How is that pain doing? Got any better?.
I had the same problem 4 years ago because I worked about 10 hours per day. I realized then I had to stop that behaviour and now I’m working only 6 hours per day taking a break by going to gym.
I feel a lot better and when I have some little pain, I just get up from my desk and take a break.
I used to do push ups. It strengthened my wrist somehow. Not it’s less sensitive to the sometimes cube lifestyle
Ok guys , I finally went to a chiropractor to finally realize that my neck isn’t in the right curves due to bad position on the computer , wich make some nerves less responsive and give me wrist pain .. So I went there a couple of time and I had some pretty good result.
I have to go there for 3-4 month and it’s really expensive but she look like she really know what she is doing so I trust her.
I also bought the wacom tablet and it is just pure awesome , I do everything with it.
Hope it helps !
Glad you managed to work out the problem. It makes me think like I could do with a new chair, because my current one cant do me any good =D The mechanism that keeps the back up is broken, so it’s like a sun lounger lol.
Hey DDStudios, I’ve read that you had problems when you code stuff and not when you design, surf, ...’cause you move mouse a lot. For coding you almost don’t need to touch mouse if you learn shortcuts and for coding xhtml just slice all before you begin coding your template and this article from Jeffrey Way can also help you http://net.tutsplus.com/videos/screencasts/how-i-can-code-twice-as-fast-as-you/. Anyway glad you’re feeling better now!
do not place your forearm to the corner of the table.. keep it above enough to not to make it thouch any solid material…
just touch the keyboard with your fingers and just your hand on the mouse.. not your ankle on the table…
My arm doesn’t hurt by my hands and wrist feel like they are really rough and uncomfortable
I often have to like stretch my fingers and twist my wrist because it gets really irritating I guess its the price to pay to work on the comp
