At Triworks.net we are already working with AS3 on all projects but the question still remains for most sellers.

As a buyer what are you really searching for, AS3 files or AS2 files?

I hope this thread helps everyone to decide what to use when creating applications for FlashDen.

Have fun!

As a content producer you should always educate the buyer and offer him what you have best to offer.

With that said AS3 all the way.

Well as far as we know, there should be a new category to discern the two soon, but either way, with the way the set up is now, I’d say it would be best to have that info at the top of the file description.

People sometimes seen to miss the details on the right info bar :)

What makes me wonder is how long before AS2 is old news and AS3 is the standard.. will there be an AS4 ?:D

Thankfully WAV and mp3 don’t seem to be evolving as fast hehe :P

What I mean is, as far as we know… with all the discussion and confusion many members have expressed on the boards and in many file comments.. i.e ..got the wrong file .. this doesn’t work in F8, .. Is this AS2 ? Is there an AS3 version??

There should be a separate category for AS2 and 3 files imho..

I’m guessing staff probably knows this too, and I’d bet that something like that is already on a to do list somewhere, but I couldn’t tell you for sure. :)

There will probably not be an AS4 as you imagine it anytime soon as the changes that the new ECMAScript edition brings are minor and backwards compatible – meaning that they can be implemented on top of AS3 in a form of patch. Expect this soon with Flash Player 10.

As for categories, I totally agree – better distinction between the two would be great.
