come on guys, lets all just have a group hug and get along :)

JWG me and you get along pretty well (at least i think we do :S) and i can see your points about giving feedback, i didnt have time at the time of download and when i returned there was a forum post and he had commented the file so i replied to both giving my reasons and also a link to his work being used for a ‘Warner Music Group’ website. I try to give feedback on everything I buy its just this once i was busy (was the christmas rush at the time)

As for denizen, well ive made my feelings perfectly clear about this guy, and i agree that he does start trouble, if you re-read all the posts in this thread and see who fired the first insult. I did nothing to provoke it only suggest to him that in my opinion this is a real forum.

I hope we can all just stop posting in this thread now and get back to being a community of like minded folks who 99% of the time treat each other with courtesy and respect.

well… i think is good a system where a user can both rate & review a file… both at the same time…

rate and say why! ...maybe a buyer is to dumb to use a good file… and his rate must not reflect the file…

yes FJ, we do get along. :)

I understand you reason for not leaving feedback until the forum, and I agree that you did nothing wrong there. I’m more upset about the blatant disrespect for someone who try so hard to help make FD a better place, not only by being a regular buyer, but also by helping other buyers who might have a hard time finding the AS3 files here on FD. Im sure when someone fixes it so we can search 3 letter searches, the “AS3 spotlights” will stop. Until then, I have nothing but the utmost respect for Bringhurst, for he is only showing that he does in fact care, and that he only wants to help. I’m sorry for getting a little “heated” in here, I’m normally pretty cool. I just don’t like seeing someone who trys to help, get bashed and misunderstood by so many here.

One Love! JWG

In a time where we so badly need unification and peace, it just seems wrong to hate on love.

JWG …your right he DOESN ’T say he doesn’t care…thats why I didn’t quote it. But by saying that it would frustrate him if people were posting things he posts in a real forum…and since its not a real forum he will continue to do so…to ME thats not caring. It may not be a “REAL” forum by his guidelines…but as far as our community, I was pretty happy coming on here and posting, talking, and learning from everybody…but now its just arguments.

JWG you honestly hit me from left field with your comments, I thought you would be one that would understand where I am coming from. But I guess you don’t.

So by his guidelines of a “real” forum, in his own mind, allows him to make posts that MANY people find useless and annoying, he himself has stated would be annoying. I am using my guidelines in determining that he does not care, and wakes up every morning thinking of ways to annoy this community.

Whatever dude, I am done with this thread, I’m done with this guy…I think I have made myself pretty clear, in what I am upset about, and why. Denzien, do whatever you feel you should do for the good of the community, I honestly could care less from this point forward.

I dont recall him saying, “you should have given him a 5 star rating.” I think he said something more along the lines of, giving a reason for the low rating. You know, FEEDBACK .

Well, I think you are wrong “So now we have three people that think its alright to buy a fellow FD authors file and give it a low rating without revealing your identity.”

It’s like if you give a 3, tell a user, hey I rated you with a 3. Go ahead and do that as well, you know what I mean? :)

...and yeah… Actionscript 3.0 Rocks!
Making files for AS2 .0 just makes things harder to update later.. :P

AS3 .0 is the right path!

GO AS3 .0! :D

Yup, true. I’ve seen some amazing stuff – and if I am not wrong, the Google StreetView is done with it as well. :D

people are going to see the 3 star ratng anyway, so if they are going to rate based on what someone else rated the file, everyone would think it’s a crappy file. But, if everyone said why they rated the file, you might find that the lower ratings were either, misunderstandings or were given for a reason that was fixed after the rating. Others then would be able to see that most people either liked the file, with the exception of a few and why.

I’m sorry, but what am I gonna do to a guy who gave me a low rating? Beat him up?? C’mon, who cares if the author knows you were the one who rated the file so low? I see noting but good that can come from giving a reason for all ratings.

@Doze

I’m not trying to hate on you. I like you and I think you have a good head on your shoulders. However, I can only stand up for what I believe in. And I believe in helping others and sharing knowledge. No one agrees on everything.

Your my boy blue!

JWG , I don’t think you read my comment well, or maybe I didn’t explain myself right. Up to your comment, the discussion wasn’t about one to make an argument for a rating, but to state he rated the file. I hope you see the difference between the two.

A system like that would be good and not so good at the same time, but it’s not the thing this guy was talking about.

I think it would be good for what you said, but not good because the comments would get filled with reasons for ratings instead of what we have there now, and it would be even harder for people to find the right things there.

Hey man, no harm taken. I understand you standing up for what you believe in, and I completely agree, I would stick up for someone that believes in helping others, and sharing knowledge…but the reason why I fight my case so much in this situation is because I feel like that is not his reasoning behind doing what he does. Ya know if I felt like he was truly trying to help, you would not see one post from me. I understand why you are arguing your point and I agree with your reasoning…so…we’re cool hehe..
