That’s not true, new iMACs are equipped with NVIDIA graphics. I’m using NVIDIA Graphic Cards all my life and they are much more than great.

If you want to stay in business then use NVIDIA.

Sorry for my ignorance. Is that I always thought Mac would use ATI. Until now I did not know that Mac and can use the Nvidia card. Well I’m glad to know that.

I have Late 2012 iMac, also i have MACBOOK Mid 2010 both are with NVIDIA Graphic cards. There were few models with ATI Cards but it seems Apple give up from ATI chip in late 2011.

Btw. You can’t change graphic card on iMAC :) at last the model that i have.

NVIDIA is the best if you’re using Adobe Premiere or After Effects. They’re more likely to support Ray Tracing in Ae and the Mercury Playback Engine in Pr. Nothing wrong with AMD if those things aren’t important to you, but if it was a choice between NVIDIA and AMD then, everything being equal, I’d go for NVIDIA every time.

Few months ago I was not sure which one to buy. I ended up with Sapphire HD7870XT Boost 2GB which has Tahiti LE gpu which is same as 79×0 series, but the card costs more than a 100€ less and it’s powerful as GTX660 Ti. I couldn’t be more happy with the result, even crysis 3 everything at ultra settings goes smooth at 60fps :D speaking about gpu acceleration in AAE, I dediced I don’t need any acceleration, with my 3770K @ 4.4GHz and 32GB RAM everything is faster than I could wish. :)

I am wondering the same question, I am going to get a new pc, I work with Adobe products and Maya, C4D… so what is the best gpu for me, Gtx 690, Gtx Titan or the new HD 7990? (I can’t afford Quadro GPUs)
