Attack of the sliders !

i’ve been browsing the wordpress section for a while now , bought a few themes etc. just wondering about sliders ? seems to be almost every theme has a slider , some are just massive !! is anyone doing designs that don’t showcase with a ma-oooosive slider ?

.... and icons seem to get BIGGER every day

are theme designers padding out with massive sliders and huge icons ?

just wondering

I guess it’s seen as something that sells you look at any theme that has a good few sales, they’ll have a big banner and lots of icons and such, so is the mentality of the designer
