Same here, thought I’m a new author, occasionally I’ll get some mails like that. It’s indeed a bit annoying, I’ll just reply with respect and let it go, I won’t feel good if I was an elite author maybe :P

When I first started here, I really didn’t realise it was so frowned upon. I thought I was actually being helpful, you know, promoting each other and all that, sending tracks I thought fit their style. I was clearly very mistaken haha.

Yes please do. While we’re ok with author’s collaborating, they shouldn’t be mass spamming through the profile pages. Thanks!

hi! i’m an AJ author and acually i send a lot of emails in the first month on the marketplace through the form. I almost never had an answer so i stopped because it was so boring also for me. i felt it was annoying for you (sorry! :P) but really i saw no other way to came in contact with a VH author to “expose” my music.

The funny part is that the only three songs that i got featured on VH were from authors that maybe i never contacted. :)

But I (we??) have some questions for you: why don’t you spam AJ authors to ask for music:D and, besie joking, how do normally find the right music for your projects?? that’s a really interesting question for us!!
and, finally, why are bothered from AJ authors asking to collaborate, while – objectively – videos without music are less more appealing?? :)

I search through AudioJungle. usually I do my search in particular category, sort tracks by date (newest first) and then listen to those that have 2 or more purchases. That way I can find new music that has been recently uploaded (sort by date) and that is good (more than 2 purchases in a short time) Since I’m a reviewer and I hear 1/3rd of VH submissions I’m really fed up with those tracks that everyone uses and i really want fresh tracks for my own projects.

Also I’m musician myself and I hate the standard 4 chord songs that repeats those 4 chords over and over again. I could make that kind of music myself. So I’m looking for something that is beyond what I could write myself.

There are few authors that I check again and again because I know they create high quality stuff and there is a chance they might have something good for what i’m creating at the moment. I come across those authors if my search method (described above) returns 2 or more good results from singe author.

I have never ever listened to a single track from AJ author who sent me message. Don’t want to sound impolite or proud, but it just doesn’t work that way for me.

I don’t think this helps you, because in this case you can’t do anything artificially to get noticed, but create great and outstanding tracks.

thx for the reply!

an interest comment, read here on the forums, is that it would be cool for AJ authors to be able to download a VH preview and change the background audio with the AJ author’s original track, then uploading on his profile
i could maybe find an interesting VH item that could work great with my music, but i cannot use it as promotion, just as VH is doing with AJ music… not so fair! :P

actually, you can download the preview if you are looking at the source code.

if you are using google chrome, right click on the preview image and select “inspect element”, then search (ctrl+f) for “flv”. this brings you to the link for the preview.

it is allowed to use music, photographs and videos from other marketplaces in your items preview as long as they are watermarked and are getting credit in your item description.

I don’t think only we videohivers may make use of that rule.

Feel free to use my watermarked previews for your tracks, as long as you link back to my item I’m totally fine with that. and many other VH authors, too, for sure.

Thing is we can’t display it in them same way, in the actual preview window, we just have an EQ visualisation of the track as it plays. All we can do is post a link to YouTube or whatever. Thanks anyway ;)
