Simply… Just respect AJ author and use watermarked version for preview. Im always using watermarked mp3, and if I have purchased file before I’m rendering with wav file + AJ watermark of course.

New news to me too.
I’ve always thought i’m being extra supportive to the AJ author by buying his file,but yeah…might be doing them more harm then good by using a non watermarked audio in my previews.
On one hand i understand efekt completely about the quality and clean presentation and on the other hand i understand the AJ authors for being concerned their audio getting ripped.

If you PURCHASE the track from AudioJungle, you ARE ALLOWED to use that track in your PREVIEW file.
Now, if a VH author wants to collaborate with an AJ author and use WATERMARKED files, everything is made clear fro you in this article:

I would try to use the watermarked version anyway, to be fair the AJ author (because audio can quite easily be extracted from previews).

I totally agree. I already said that is the best to respect AJ authors work, and to go with watermark anyway. Just asked what we can and can’t do according to rules.
