I seriously doubt that… We have been down that road and believe me, it’s not easy! Being developers at heart, we found that a lot of our time ended up being spend on marketing, taking away from building and developing our actual products.

Now that we have once again aimed our attention and focus on CC, we’re finding that our sales increase with each new release and since we can only focus on building our products :) Happy coding!

Agreed. Being a core developer, marketing comes hard to us. And it isn’t fun either. With CC you can get really good sales with near-zero marketing efforts.

That said, it makes sense to set up your own shop if you are looking for scale and flexibility, and don’t mind getting out of your comfort zone.

For you as developers yes you are right CC and TF could be the answer. But keep in mind CC is not overcrowded yet. But for me as a designer in GR sales are lower and lower. I start my shop 8 months ago and and sales are decent right now and site is growing every month. An the other hand my time spent on marketing is the same time you spend on support and updates. And the day when I will hire someone specialized in marketing is not so far.

Envato Lights are switched off It seems to be approaching the end of their life :(

Why?

Management is powerless?
They get huge money and Are happy with alcohol?
Disagreement between management?
Envato is only themeforest? they should close other marketplaces?
and ….......................

Hopefully the 100% commission today will make up for less sales some authors have had recently. I hope everyone gets lots of sales today :-).
