I think it is also better for Envato market places because 50% commission rate will attract more authors it mean more business.

So I request Envato to move from 40% commission to 50%.

Where were you when the start was at 25% and max was 50%?

yeah omg it used to be 25-50% max... I think 40% is a fair starting point really, if you want 50% “like other marketplaces” then go elsewhere..?

The thing is FD has a lot more users than other markets, so therefore a lot more potential buyers. But as far as I know the commisions for excluive authors are the same or higher than on other markets.

I mean to say that if we compare other marketplaces those are not offering this much commission and if Envato offer 50% I think this will boost the number of authors.

mkk, look at the top selling file here – You think it would’ve sold even a quarter of that anywhere else. The answer is no. Envato’s rates are pretty reasonable compared to other marketplaces. The fact that they bumped us from 25% to 40% for exclusive members like yourself – we should be thankful. I hope this clears any doubts you may have.

mkk, Percentage is not the only way to attract right authors who can produce reasonable profit with files. In fact that may end up with attracting unnecessary ones too. (Example: copy cats with short-temporary goals about earnings)
