I personally think that perhaos iv boxed things in a little but after weeks of building i think a new set of eyes are needed to see it from a new perspective

I’d look at the visual weighting between the upper and lower menu. They both look identical so there is no ‘primary’ navigation. Because the top menu is the same design as the lower one, it also looks a bit strange stretched full width when the rest of the design is boxed.
Also, it’s a small thing but the shadows under the social icons in the top right look weird.

Thanks!
I’ll get tweaking the menus
Any other areas of improvement folks?
Have spent some time tweaking menu, typography, spacing and colours
Any thoughts guys?

Hey,
The logo font is out of place, try tie it to the theme more – & I think the social icons are a little big
Tom
Awesome, thanks for the feedback – i can i can only presume by the lack of response the theme in nearing another submission
What I didn’t like…
The top menu. It’s identical to the main menu. Maybe lose the background bar or make it smaller.
The social media buttons. The second screenshot is an improvement.
I’m not sure what’s up headlines and single post no sidebar. Is there supposed to be some content there?
The footers dark background. I’d like to see what the footer looks like if you left it white like the rest of the page.
Aside from that, I’m kinda diggin’ the big block style. It’s definitely different from current theme trends. I appreciate that everything is easy to read. It’s not all 10px #ebebeb text on a #ffffff background.

Totally agree. I would suggest you to try with these icons for social media. Much more sutile and generic, at least for my style http://www.iconsweets2.com/
