yeah but they get a help file etc when they download it so is there any point to that? I thought we were getting at having the help file hosted along with the file here at FD so they can view both before they purchase…?

Hi everybody, I’m new here and in a few weeks I’m going to start selling my application here…

I can see that support requests are a common problem, I’ve read many products comments and many times people try to transform a little bit too much the files that they buy… like they buy a photo gallery and then they want to show videos… or different media on that file… this is just weird in my opinion…

I think that a good product is a product that is easily customizable in its graphic and options, but that is not too open to be transformed in something totally different… I am a developer and of course I know that if I buy a banner rotator I can transform it in a website if I want, but that is not the goal of a banner rotator…

For this reason I’ve decided to provide a full trial version of my products to let buyers play with it, read the manual, understand what they can do with the file and if my product really fit their needs… so I want the buyers buy my product only if they think that my file is perfect to them… I hope this solution can avoid me to give support to absourd request and have all my customers happy!

Try it and, if you like it, buy it!

My first post, a bit long… but… have a nice day guys!

Parker

In my battle to follow up on support on my files I have launched a General File FAQ which I plan on updating regularly with solutions to those questions we all get a million times. I’m posting the link on each of my files to this FAQ so hopefully some of the buyer comments could be answered here and reduce the number of comments and emails. Authors feel free to link to this page if you want ;)

Well.. the main problem was with the guys that need support. the ones that don’t have the files are not the subject here.
It’s more easy to update only the help file instead of the entire file pack that needs a reviewer approval.
The thing should work like this: a buyer asks a question… you update the file with the answer and upload it to server. ...and all the buyers will have there all the help is needed. in an easy to update help file.

GOAL ! :D lol

But, and there is always a but, I would bet many buyers would still post on your comments and authors will get sick of typing, “check the F!”” FAQ ” lol

In a digital age thats rather trusting, whats stopping people running off with it?

Or are you releasing the semi working version as well?

I can see this bringing you alot of work personally…

YEH we need a live help file which can be downloaded independently from the file page and can be updated by the author – similar to how we update thumbnail images without it having to go through an approval process.

Do you mean decompiling risks?

I’m developing a solution to avoid this risk… anyway I will try with this strategy on some products and if it works I will apply it to all my products…
