So i just uploaded a new template which used bit.ly php api for a sharing system, and the reviewer rejected my file from start because i was hosting it on my server. He told me to fake the pph script of the sharing system. If he would think a bit he would realize that you cannot fake an entire php script, because you just can’t. It’s not like with a contact form. It was an essential feature that cannot be faked, and he rejected my file without even asking me about it.
Now i have to upload it again and hope i encounter a more competent reviewer, because [removed] is no good at all :(

Ruben,

I understand your position, but posting your rant on the public forums, let alone pointing your finger at a reviewer is never a good solution, it’s rather a big no-no. Just my two cents…

No offense. [removed] is a great reviewer. Whenever he rejected one of my files he always gave reasons and improvement suggestions. Not to mention the fact that he always helps us on the forums. I dont know what your issue is with him, but i for one highly aporeciate what he does.

By the way Ruben, you have a box called reviewer notes. If you leave that blank and you have a complex file, chances are you’ll get rejected. If I send you a template and you have to review it without having any idea what it does, your in deep over your head. Try mentioning in the reviewer box what your file does, what the reviewer should pay attention to, so on, so forth.

TNL stay out of it buddy. Your just hitting your post count again :-|

It is not allowed to have a preview hosted on one server when that preview use php? I thought that was allowed, the same as themeforest.

Well

Our last 2 templates both use php and we hosted it on Shucks’s server. Had no problem with it at all. I know sometimes it’s a pain in the rump to fake php.

Also if you host it on your own server you should not have any issues. Why fake the php? I do not understand.

Cheers

Lester

Do not name your reviewer on public forums. You can resolve these issuses by reuploading and stating what happened before to avoid re-rejection. I had this kind of rejection and the second time it all went fine without modifying the item at all..

I doubt that. Steve is much older and wiser than we are. I can bet he doesn’t get grunges on people. Plus, being a reviewer he has be impartial :) But he can warn him for his attitude on the forum.

Anyway. Ruben, use the comment reviewer box, and if you get rejected, don’t take it personally. The quality of your files need to be top notch, mainly because you will not sell if it’s not, secondly because you’ll bring the whole marketplace quality down. So take his rejection as a good thing, improve your file, and re-upload.

Re-uploading without fixing the mistake is what will eventually make this Activeden a place filled with crap that doesn’t work! No better word for this, I’m sorry, but, never re-upload with the hope that you’ll get another reviewer. That’s just stupid, careless, and ignorant of you. That affects everyone here, not only you.

Please, if you have an issue with an item rejection, don’t name the reviewer or start complaining on the forums (unless you are somehow constructive).

I cannot give the details for the rejection here in the forums, but rest assured that it’s a really good reason. The best way is to contact support and they will try to solve your issue as soon as possible, usually giving you an answer directly from the reviewer himself.

Thanks, marco
