Basic Items, why accepted to TF?

There is this WP theme that took my attention at the frontpage.

It has no special features, not one image that is made for the theme, no featured slider, no portfolio page, no admin page, no lightbox or anything. only basic css coding.

I really oppose to items like these. There are lots of free themes better than that. Not to forget, its sold at a price of $20 right now…

Emailed, but the individual item is not important. I just want to know that my efforts for creating really premium themes that set it apart from free themes are justified.

But with themes that are so close to being a free theme, I feel that my efforts are for nothing

I have found it, well i must say, it’s better that envato doesn’t allow to many of these kind of theme’s because many of these kind of themes can be downloaded for free.

But still it got 9 sales so far.

Thats true, but this marketplace has a good rep and products, if you allow to many basic and simpel themes you will lose people.

I don’t see how creating a “really premium theme that set it apart from free themes” can be worthless..

I don’t think people who sell tons of WP theme really care about some other file being “not good enough”

I think the bar shouldn’t be placed too high. After all a very basic (but well designed) theme might be just what some people is looking for.

But I do think there needs to be ways to search for and set apart higher quality theme, and I’m sure TF is conscious of that (the redesign is already an improvement).

But its definitely stealing sales from you and me with simple css coding. I don’t think its fair.

I know there are lots of simple themes on TF.net but they have something that sets them apart. Its either functionality, design or smtg else.

In this case, theme has nothing.

We try to limit how many of these kinds of themes/templates are accepted. For the most part, they sell fairly well so it’s a good idea to at least approve some which will also add to TF’s variety.

Also, I don’t believe it is stealing your sales. When someone comes to TF to purchase a theme, they usually have in mind what they’re looking for. If someone buys someone else’s product and not yours, that doesn’t mean they’re stealing your sales.
