Beethoven song Fur Elise licence???

Just wondering if I want to use “Fur Elise” song in my project what actions do I need to do to get this licence, or any classical song for the record? Thanks

I’ve heard somewhere that if the song is over 100 years old, you are allowed use the melody wherever you want, I’m not sure though, you should look it up.

This is true. Older works like that are the in the public domain and are free to use. But it is always a good idea to check the copyright status of semi-recent/recent music, as copyright can be renewed.

It’s true that the composition is in the public domain, but you can’t just take the first audio file you find and use it in your project, because there might be RECORDING copyright. So, you can use your own version, or the one you’re sure is in the public domain or eligible otherwise for use, but not the one ripped from a CD.
