Hello everybody, I am going to be working with some friends this year, and wee all live at least 30 mile away for each other so meeting up will be costly and unproductive everyday.

So I was wondering if anyone know of and really good free project management tools, I need to be able to have a folder I can share between us all so we can easily work on project together. and be able to mange task and what not. or if there are some low cost one I would be happy with that but on small one off payment not a month by month contract

Many thanks

You could use dropbox to share files between each other/ upload them to a file and edit via ftp

Not sure how you can sort out duties, I’m currently working on a little to do website that is designed for this kind of thing, joined tasks and such

Try out Latitude project management software. The software package can handle timesheets, file sharing/attachments, todo-notes, client-project tracking, multiple tasks creation, quotes, invoices, etc. We find it easy to use for monitoring everything around projects.

Depending on what you’re doing specifically, KickOff is pretty nice – though it’s a aprox $27 (and mac only). We use KickOff for most communication/task assigning.

Or just combo DropBox files, Wunderlist 2 shared lists, and Skype.

Dropbox is a good choice for sharing files. In terms of task management, have you tried Trello?

Dropbox for files, Asana.com for tasks – ideal combination for me.
