I tell everyone far and wide to steer clear of GoDaddy. I’m the web designer for a number of different sites, and it’s amazing how many people immediately think ‘GoDaddy’ when they need to buy a website domain. Most irritating customer service and control panel Ever. Cannot deal.

I’ve really fallen in love with hostmonster this year! They’re really great! One of the most affordable webhosts; cheaper than dreamhost and bluehost – both of whom I like as well.

I actually have been using icdsoft.com for YEARS . Like, since 2001 or 2002, and I still like them, but hostmonster has a much better control panel, customer service and they have the wordpress one click install. primo!

;)

I’m pretty sure hostmonster and bluehost are both startups from the same CEO . I remember he also had started up another one, and it may actually be dreamhost.

I use VS-HS.com for my hosting. Great customer support.

dreamhost was definitely the WORST for me. I was originally using it ONLY for developing sites and it was unbearably slow (often timing out entirely)... and then they accidentally charged people thousands of dollars because one of their employees made a stupid mistake. It’s dirt cheap, but DO NOT WANT DO NOT WANT .

I’ve only had problems when they were migrating servers a few months back, other than that nothing at all.

5+ Years on Media Temple running over 30 different sites from one account (for under $20 a month) – they rock.

The agency I work at uses media temple, but personally I would choose hostgator over them anyday :) Ive used slicehost, dreamhost, 1and1, and a plethora of other hosts… and I still find hostgator the best, been using them for many years.

Ditto. I love Hostgator guys. You will not regret the decision. Buy them now.:) I have also used media temple but they are even better

GoDaddy’s control panel is for the birds.

30+ sites under one MT account…that peaks my interest. I wouldn’t have expected that. How big are the sites (views per day-ish)?

Dunno about him, I run about a million pageviews/month without any real trouble on (mt).
