Before forking out for an extra screen, I’d just make sure you’re going to make use of it haI’ll +1 that comment.
I was looking at larger second monitors as well when I got my MBP but I just decided to hook up my old digital 17” Dell screen until I decide which one… It’s been connected now for almost a year.![]()
OK well the first thing to buy is the MacBook and a stand. I can always hook it up to my current Dell 21” screen for now until I save up the dollar or I get too used to using my old monitor.
What do you suggest I do with my old Dell pooter? I’ve upgraded pretty much all the bits in it, got 4gb memory (good when I got it), 1tb internal and external (back up) hard drives. Its been my old faithful!

Recycle! Find someone who needs it more than you, and give it to them. Or, sell it.

Ebay it
But yeah, definitely hook it up to your old monitor until you’re positive you’ll use it.
The power/portability of an MBP makes working on the sofa far more attractive an option haha

I like option B!
Is it worth buying a new MacBook Pro now or when the new ones are released, because we all know there is going to be new ones out this year. Gives me time to save up as well…

I followed this site’s advice but I wasn’t in a huge hurry so waiting a few months wasn’t the end of the world for me – http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#MacBook_Pro

I would wait unless you REALLY need it

This is a hell of a monitor! High resolution and 64-bit color, can’t beat it!
The Apple Thunderbolt Display. I’ve used it before and I find it pretty awesome. But then again I don’t have any windows/lights directly behind me, so no glare issues.
i am in love with my eizo, ehm was… it stopped working couple of weeks ago. looking for an alternative, but hard to find something good as eizo. i mean… i can work on other displays, but eizo is really amazing !
