I just bought a MBP 13 ’’ i5 w/ an extra 4GB SDRAM chip and I will sell my 2009 iMac to get a Thunderbolt Display. Sure, is not cheap, but I can think of a better monitor for a MacBook Pro.

I’d hold out a bit seeing as how CES is next week and there’s surely going to be a ton of new monitors/equipment announced.

I was planning on a getting an Apple Cinema Display, but going with a Mini-DP instead of the Thunderbolt, since there are converters available that let you use a Windows PC with the Mini-DP version. I was hoping to use it as my main display for my PC and a secondary for my MBP .

But I was holding off to find a refurb for less, until I read about Samsung’s 9 series which is slated for a March release. Aside from the high-gloss display it has everything I want in the Cinema display plus a lot more, including MHL . It’s more expensive, but it does seem like it brings a lot to the table.
