Best way to take screenshots

Happy 2013 to you all,just wondering what you all use to take your screenshots.

If you mean the snapshots from the projects themselves we use After-Effects.
Press Ctrl+Alt+S Inside the composition you wanna “snap” and an frame you were on is gonna be added to the render queue.

If you mean the video tutorials – I use SnagIt, and there’s another popular program called Fraps.

I use Fraps for tutorials.

Thanks for the replies,it was a shot of the file so the after effects tip is perfect,I’ll look into fraps for other types of shots though,thanks again and have a great new year

It depends on your machine type, but for screen shots where I need to work it into something I generally stick with the built-in OS ones. Alt+Print Screen for PC and CMD+Shift+4 I believe for Mac.

there is a STAMP key on my keyboard,

I just press that.

But then I need to open Photoshop, make new document and then paste the screenshot.

Thanks again for the replies,it was for screenshots for AE files I have purchased,those other tips are very useful for other stuff though so appreciate them.

I usually just grab my iPhone, take a snap of my screen then email it to myself for screenshots. I assume that’s how everyone else does it?

I use an image from the rendered final image sequence.
