Sorry, I was not clear.

The information we want to distribute is between our team members alone. I figured the best tool for this job would be a wiki, so I was curious what you are using if you have a studio / agency / team.

Well, most of the companies I worked for used a closed WP installation for all internal procedures. Another one used Wiki Web Help – http://wikiwebhelp.org (very fast loading). Depends on what you need. WWH is only for smaller docs.

WordPress may be a little bit slow, but I found it easier to work with in larger docs thanks to its sidebar widgets for related content and easier menu controls.

A WP -stored documentation also allows you for password-protected access and WYSIWYG editing. This means that if you would ever allow clients to view it, you can control which of them gain access to it. The WYSIWYG editing is also easier in larger and more complex content. Writing HTML can be a downer for larger text.

As I said. Depends on what you need.

Fast loading?

Easy editing?

Related content?

Password protected access?

Clients need access too?

Nice design? (doubt it)

Portable? (SQLite or flat-file based)

Just list your needs and I’ll gladly recommend one, tow or more.

Wiki Server 3 is also a great option in combination with the other options the OSX server offers. http://www.apple.com/macosx/server/

In my last web agency we used a custom version MediaWiki for that kind of information. Works like Wikipedia, as it’s the same base and provided by them.

It’s a better alternative than a WordPress Wiki theme as it doesn’t need any knowledge of HTML or administration interface : Great for people in your studio that didn’t touch any code in their life… like the accounting departement and so :)

As far as I know, this is MediaWiki with a custom template done by or for Nokia.
