Bracing for Sandy?

Anyone else out been affected by hurricane Sandy yet? My work is close until Wed already and everyone in house lock-down mode. (wash, DC)

Yup, I’m in Boston, and the wind is crazy. I’m expecting to lose power in the next few hours, and then the question is just how long till it comes back up, possibly not for a few days.

I’m just over the border from Buffalo on the Canadian side. It’s been raining for 3 days solid already but things are really picking up now. We have a wood burning stove and we’re already ready for the winter (wood wise) anyway, so even if the power was out for a week things will be all good Got enough food and water and all that good stuff.

wow, yeah if you heven’t stocked up (anyone) yet, do so as soon as you can. I can’t tell you how many images I’ve seen of empty store shelves where water, batteries, and candles used to be. I’m hoping it will just turn out to be a huge over-reaction, but better to be safe than sorry!
