Type designers are awesome, look at how much one man can say about a font.

lol so much hatred for an innocent font.
I must say I never used Helvetica but now I have to look at it and what’s that that make this man hate it so much.

I know everybody has his wright to an opinion but I think this is pointless.
Why should users simply forget about Helvetica and go to his Aktiv Grotesk or Univers?
I think a designer choses his font not by it’s name, he choses it by how it looks and how much can that font help him in his work.
Besides that i think Bruno Maag is a very smart man. Thanks for the link Arik.
Fantastic interview. It was quite informative and entertaining too. Thanks for the link Arik.

For useful link, thank you.
Font usage and selection matters are really important. This issue actually determine “the Helvetica” thing.
“I think a designer choses his font not by it’s name…” said @pixelcloth, of course it is true. However, this interview made me think about CSS3 and new font-face thing. I think – I’m afraid- font usage will be worse than currently situation on the Internet. Because font selection and usage process is really really easy right now.

Sounds like design snobbery to me. He has some good points, but really there are greater design issues in circulation than the abuse of Helvetica.
