Bug in the rating system

Just noticed a bug(i think) in the rating system, all of my files have 5 stars, one 4, and now my overall rating has 4 stars….....can be me but thats not correct right? any one the same issue?

It definitely looks like a bug.

Mathematically you could have 4 stars because overall rating isn’t average of item ratings, but of all of the ratings.

simple example: 3 items

1) 5 5 4 4 : rating 5

2) 5 5 4 4 : rating 5

3) 5 4 4: rating 4

overall rating: (18 + 18 + 13) / 11 = 4.454545… rating 4

ps: if there is some other ratings algorithm – my example is wrong.

Your 5 star items are probably only just keeping their 5 stars.

hmm i think you are right, that could be the case.

Still i think its better to have a new and better rating system, like one that gives exact values(like 4.2 or 3.9) or just a basic thumbs up/neutral/down.

A better ratting system is mention by a lot of members for some time now…..

Well i dont mind to have 4 stars its back to 5 in a couple of days

correct but he makes a good point, i forgot that i have 2 graphicriver items which has 4 stars each(GR files dont get highratings overall). So i think that the ratings are correct…..but still its time for a new rating system
