I spoke a little too soon!

The Bad News: There are still a couple of issues with Bulk FTP uploads.

The Good News: We have a work around that should prevent any problems for you.

The Work Around Instructions:

1. Make a fresh FTP connection to our FTP server (disconnect and reconnect if you are already connected)

2. Upload your photos to bulk_import/photos and model releases to bulk_import/photos/model_releases

3. Disconnect your FTP client from our FTP server (this is the important one!)

4. Process your files on photodune

We’ll keep you updated here on any further developments.

Mark :)

Sorry to say that your “workaround” still leads to “x items being processed” loop (for about 20 hours now and still counting), at least with my test upload portion of ca 50 files.

Needless to say, as an owner of medium-sized portfolio with good sales figures, I’d appreciate it if you would fix the long-standing problem in question.

TIA

Plus, I was told by Support not to re-load the files that are stuck.

Sorry, the work-around doesn’t work. But why do you call it a “work-around” anyway? It is what one usually does when uploading with FTP .

Except when using an external FTP client such as Lightburner or similar uploading services it’s difficult to check 1 and 3 – but this time I tried to FTP directly and it doesn’t work as well.

Thanks for the feedback. Getting our FTP working is definitely a priority.

Sorry about the FTP processing being stuck over the weekend.

The issue Mark (rabidcarrot) outlined above wasn’t the same one as right now. This was something to do with the servers to do all of the watermarking and resizing of thumbnails, etc.

I’ve got them all running again, and they’ll process the weekend backlog over the rest of the day. I’m as yet unsure as to why they weren’t pumping through the photos on their own. We haven’t lost any data at all, so if you should start seeing your photos come through.

When the rest of the dev team start their week I’ll get them together and try and figure out what went wrong and report back.

Heya all,

The problems that we’ve been having over the last week with uploading photo’s via FTP to photodune should be sorted now.

There also were some issues with model releases being missed for some items over this period. Apologies for this but future uploads should no longer have this issue.

We should have also solved the problem of items taking excessive time to process. In saying that, sometimes items can take up to a couple of hours to process due to load on the site.

If you are still having problems with Bulk FTP submissions. Let us know and we’ll see what can be done.

Mark :)

Hi Mark,

I am still stuck with bulk uploading processing, waiting hours for the images to come up, could you please help me check it when possible? thanks : )

We’ve still got a bit of a backlog of jobs in the queue from the weekend.

I’ll post back in the thread when it looks like we’re back up to working on current jobs.
