my mistake , February list
Guys, If your first sale was for example on 20th Feb then it counts only 20-29th Feb, sales in March are NOT included and you will not be new author for march stats. So even there strategy is needed (selling first track on the 1st day of month that’s the clue). But is that ranking only a fun?

Here’s the deal:If you made your first sale in the month of March, and then sold 10 songs, you would be on the list. That’s the thing. It matters when you made your first sale. Chances are, you sold some songs before March, but not enough in a given month to get on the list. Am I right?
That’s how the system works.
But, there’s no need to worry. Your music is great as it is and you should do just fine here on AJ. Keep putting out great music like you already do and you will be that Top Author one day!
Oh wow. I joined in February and had one sale that month and then 42 in March. That didn’t work out well for me as far as getting in the top new authors! Oh well.
Thanks for explaining how it works though!
yes, dorjemusic, same happened to me in December/January. Don’t bother, you’ll be doing fine. Let’s just say, the “Top New Authors” system needs some reviewing
doesnt seem to be a priority for AJ/envato atm, so these confusions happen every beginning of a new month.
Cheers, Basspartout
Edit: they really should get to it, because – like yourself – many great new authors could benefit from it as well as envato/audiojungle themselves, if it weren’t such a stupid system.
So, it means I didn’t make it to the list because I sold one item in february, talking about bad luck! LOL , anyway, things are looking pretty good so far!
Hey, algorithm is simple.
Top New author counter starts from your first item approval date (not your first sale). Which means if your first item approval was in Feb then you can be in the list of top new authors for Feb only.
Since reviewing time may get several days or even 7-14 days, so probably the best strategy for any new author is to have 10-30 nice tracks ready to go and start uploading them daily just before previous month end(may be few days or even one week until month end depend on current reviewing time) to be able to appear (if lucky) on the top new authors for the next month.

I don’t think that’s correct. My first items were approved in Jan but my first sales occurred in Feb, and I was featured for Feb.
I had the exact experience a year ago in April when I was prepared to see myself appear on the “Top New Authors” list with my 40-something sales, only to learn that my first few sales during the last days of March disqualified me.

Nope. Top New Author counter starts with your FIRST SALE . My first upload was in May last year and I was on top list for July after I started selling in July.

Ok, ok, it looks you are right!
I wrote what was logically right if I implement this but it works as you said.
