I requested withdrawal to my bank account twice and had to pay 25$ commission each time. If you’re now adding 35$ commission does this mean that I have to give up 60$ on each payout????? or that 25$ is now turning into 35$?

It means $60 loss for each withdrawal.

“Unfortunately this is no longer sustainable as the number of authors requesting transfers has grown large enough that it requires Jun who manages all our payouts to spend days at a time processing the transfers, while the bank charges mount up on top. Given how fast the marketplaces are growing it’s clear that it’s finally time to add a charge.”

Hey there,

no offence, but isn´t that a weak argument for charging extra fees? I do believe that it takes some time to manage all that payout requests. But that also means the more payouts you have to do, the more envato is earning itself. With that argument the next step could be: Envato is growing, the more authors/files there are, the more reviewers/staff are needed, so Envato is urged to take more than 75% (non-exclusive) off the files price. Correct me if I´m wrong, but personally I think this is a very unfortunate decision, and disappoiting as well.

Just a thought…

As a result we’re going to be introducing a processing fee of $35 for each withdrawal via SWIFT transfer. This is to cover both bank fees and administration time.

In India, 25$ is charged for withdrawal via SWIFT by Bank. But now you charge 35$ fee for withdraw process. So you increase 10$ for withdraw fee :(

No, it’s $25 + $35.

From the announcement

“As a result we’re going to be introducing a processing fee of $35 for each withdrawal via SWIFT transfer. This is to cover both bank fees and administration time.”

Introducing means applying a new rule to each withdrawal. This fee is something that envato will cut, there is also a fee which the bank takes. As a result, it will be about $60 in total.
