Hi guys, I often see many forum threads created by fellow Authors, suggesting and discussing ways to better please existing and potential Buyers, and they are all valid, of course, but I think we can take it a step further.

Why not ask Buyers directly? After all, they are the ones who can best answer such questions.

With that thought in mind, I’d like to suggest that some time in the near future, maybe Envato Notes Blog for example, could also interview Buyers. It would be very educational and informative to a huge number of Authors from all marketplaces.

A great way to start would be to post your questions here, so that we can have a list full of objective and productive questions, which can later be asked to different Buyers.

And your question is…

My question might be something about the support. How often do you got terrific support when you’ve got questions about a bought item. Or about usability of items: which kind of items do you mostly buy, usable items or items for fun? ;)

That is a good question Interant and i would add to that question:
Do you want us (authors) to improve our support? if so why?
What should we add, what should we lose?

Now here is a question for which i would personally like to hear an answer:

Why don’t you rate our files every time you buy them? Why don’t you give us the feedback we need so we can improve our work?

Need i remind you that this is also for your own good?! You give us feedback (rate + a comment with what you think about our files – good, bad), we listen and upgrade our skills and you buy new and more satisfying files.

We can’t grow without your help. And those aren’t just simple words, they’re true.

Hope you will read this thread :D.

Good thread Dzinc :), hope we will get some feedback.

Great, I’ve always wondered about posting something like this before as I’ve often wanted a further insight into what our amazing buyers want!

I’d like to know what buyers consider the most important feature of a file and what influences them the most to eventually buy a file?

Icon/Preview/Description/Contents/Re-usability/Author/Support/Naked Women ;) etc!

Maybe Envato should invent badges for buyers (badges for feedback, badges for regular ratings) and than after certain amount of badges(or points) buyer would have some kind of discount, just to encourage feedbacking (if that is correct word).

Indeed, that’s something to consider, but let’s try to focus on the questions for now. Ok, maybe we can turn your suggestion into a question. Something like…

“If you were awarded with different profile badges, would that encourage you to write feedback and rate more files?

Or even better:
What would make you rate / comment our files?

Great idea! I’m going to make sure Adrian, the Notes editor, sees this.

Hi guys, Adrian Try was kind enough to write this blog post on Envato Notes:

What would you like to know from a typical Envato Marketplace Buyer?

Be sure to check it out and post your questions!

Thanks to Adrian & Lance. Cheers.
