Hi there!
Does anybody know, if buyers are getting notified (by email) when a already bought item has been updated by the author?
Would make sense or not?
Million times has been discussed here, millions of authors/buyers are agreed. Absolutely high demand and would be a basic, mandatory feature. Unfortunately never happened from the competent side.
+1 for this.
Also it would be great if we can search comments on each item page.

i dont think it will ever happen. 1. people will abuse the system 2.people will update there files more 3. they will need to hire more people to review all the updates.
it will be a pain in the butt . for envato. thats what i think. but you never know.

Could you please explain?
1. Who will abuse the ‘system’ by updating the files? and how they will?
2. How the ‘People’ will update files more because of the email notification?
3. How email notification is related to hiring more people for review?
@Industrykidz:
1. This would be avertible with the limitation for an item update (1upd / 1month) and also the author has to give a reason for the update. If its a bug fix, maybe no limit. If its an obvious marketing tool then “limit”
2. Maybe, but that means more quality files on the market, means more trust and probably more interest for the older items.
3. Yeah… here is the problem bro

This.
The only solution for us as the authors is to create a mailing lists (of course hosted somewhere else) for our customers – we could keep them updated and occasionally promote our new stuff. Is that allowed on Envato?
Cheers
Thank you guys, I start to see the problem…
@kubawolanin: Buddy, i have drunk today 1.5 litre of wine but even if i support this with an another half a liter vodka, i could not believe in Envato would give us the access (or mails) to our buyers. You might convince me earlier you came from the mars or you are the Batman. Thats might works… but this?

Also it sounds like impossible at the moment like you guys said, I think that sooner or later Envato would have to implement this function for the benefits of both buyer and author.
