Licenses are sometimes difficult to find, usually if I don’t find these informations, I don’t use it. In Deviantart for example, I think that most of the files are copyrighted, some people give explicit rules, some just say “use this freely”, so maybe the best is to contact the author to be sure. I usually had positive answers for my personal projects. But for commercial it’s sometimes a bit more difficult.

But for fonts I didn’t really understand, for example I was interested by the Aller font and I wanted to use cufon but if I understand the license it’s not allowed : “You may not alter Font Software for the purpose of adding any functionality which such Font Software did not have when delivered to you by Dalton Maag” so what about embedding ?
