I’m not really bothered either way, if people want to share their happiness on reaching a milestone then why not? Although there is some good discussion here, I think the milestone section in the forums would be a good idea, then if people didn’t want to read them…. then they have the choice not to open that particular topic but I don’t think they should be automated.
I agree with Gareth in the sense that everybody is entitled to their opinion which is the whole point of having a forum but getting personnel and making a lot of negative comments doesn’t really help anyone in the long run, that’s just my humble opinion.
This is a great community and full of very helpful people! That has to be the most important thing, at the end of the day we are all aiming for the same goals! We should all be happy with our achievements big or small and if people want to share that then what’s the problem? I know what folks are saying about self promotion but if you look all over the site there is a lot of it going on! Follow….UN follow etc, etc, we all know that!
I’ve made about 550 posts and probably most of them have been congratulations of some description! Is that self promotion? Personally I think it’s good to encourage one another. Anyway, that’s me two bob’s worth!
good positive post simaudio… while i agree that it’s annoying to see self-serving posts about reaching milestones, i also agree it’s important to give each other encouragement and celebrate victories; not sure the best way to do it though
I would like to defend myself and shine some clarity to those who don’t read full posts.
Your calling me hypocritical because I have posted a total of 2 at the very beginning. One with the red paw and the other with 100 sales. Did I start a thread when I got 200? 300? Of course not. Its just to much. If you actually read my posts you’ll see I think its fine for excited authors to express gratitude and excitement for important milestones.
The keyword here is “important” milestones.
I have congratulated and still congratulate composers on achievements that were well deserved.
But Phil its just too much. I love your work and have express so many times. Just scale it back a tab and your achievements will be worth more.
We do NOT need to see the same people posting achievements every month or so. Its embarrassing self marketing.
You could probably just skip the threads you’re not interested in. Seems pretty simple.
I wonder who rushed off to see if PornMeadow.net was available ? Lol
I think that those threads should be posted in the off-topic section. Anyway I would like to take this time to let you know that I just reach the 144 sales??? Isn’t that amazing??!? thank you Envato, and thanks to all of you dear comrades, I could have never made it without you!!!! Hahahahaha
-1 to it having it’s own forum or being automatic because i’d never read it and I doubt others would… it’s nice seeing achievement threads every now and again but this sort of argument raises it’s head once a year or so because we get a few too many at once that’s all…
Many people think of this community as family, and when you get excited about something you want to tell your family first. I don’t mind them.
