Can you recommend some decent headphones? I’m looking to spend maybe up to £150. Advice or recommendations gratefully accepted.
Thanks
Graham
I use Sony 7509 HD, they sound fine to me

A lot of tipps tehre…

Ho there! We suggest AKG K701. Incredibile quality!
My current one’s are Sony – I like them, there are about 15 years old and are now falling apart! I was thinking about Sennheiser HD 25 SP’s – anyone used them? Thanks for your quick reply and thanks for the collections problem for me – happily fixed on that!
Beyerdynamic DT 770 is definitely your choice.
It fits your budget.
These are perfect soundrecording monitor headphones. As classic as a tuxedo, or a Cheesburger at McDonalds
They have very plain and crystal sound – excellent for monitoring your tracks.
More info you can easily google.
There are two versions – 80 Ohm and 250 Ohm impendance. 250 Ohm version can play very quietly on some soundcards – still, many professional soundcards are strong enough.
Thankyou all and tahnkyou Mattsteiner for the forwarded thread – very useful!
I have sennheiser hd280 pro and px 200-II
They are more expensive than the price range you listed, but i strongly suggest checking out the Sennheiser HD650, they are an investment that will last you for many many years.
The AKG K701 is on my list to buy. They seem to have nothing but great reviews. And also the Sony headphones recommended in the first reply.
Whatever you decide to go with, just make sure they’re relatively flat sounding. It won’t help to use something with say a “hyped” bass or something that somehow ‘sweetens’ the sound. That probably goes without saying here, but figured I’d better mention it before someone recommends Beats by Dre or something…
