Celeb/movie photos in preview images

There’s a few themes lately using photos of celebs in the main preview image – I’m sure I was told this wasn’t allowed?

If anybody could clarify that’d be appreciated.

what do you mean by main preview images? could you give an example?

I think he means the 590×300px file preview image.

If that’s the case, its the same thing as the live demo – you’re not giving this picture to the buyer, so there should be no problem.

ok I have to admit I am a bit ignorant in this issue. I thought in all preview images and demos you are supposed to use only images that you have the right to use. Now I understand there is a difference between this main preview and the demo. As I can see the images are used both in the main preview image and in the demo of this theme. So in the demo you can use whatever images you want without carying about the licence, but not in that main preview image?

You CAN NOT use copyright images as a part of the design and u’re not allowed to include such images in the theme download pack.

You CAN use ALMOST every image for both preview images and live demo.
