Church Theme (WordPress). How about it?

Calling all wordpress gurus! I’ve been surfing ThemeForest for sometime and I’ve been waiting to see a church theme to buy. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

With so much talent on this site, I’m sure somebody can create one easily.

Most Church websites have: 1. Homepage with a “video display”, “calendar”, “latest news”, “main image about 250px high and the width if the site”.

2. Video archive page

3. Calendar page

4. Bulletin page

5. Ministries page (I would think it would be setup like a portfolio page).

6. Store page (Maybe)

7. Maybe a footer that’s 250px

Is this a request… Yes, kind of. But, I think if done right it can be a best seller. I wish I can code for wordpress because I would have done it. So, I leave it to the pros.

I just launched a few wordpress sites, that I just re-designed and then made into church sites. I didn’t change too much. www.acworthchurch.com www.rebuildgeorgiayouth.com www.thepinflow.com I am doing another now (www.gacogop.org). You can make the existing themes on this site pretty much do what you want.

I’m doing the same thing with an html theme: www.umcpleasanthill.org. I’m in the beginning stages but it seems doable.

It would be nice to see dedicated church themes. I think there is a market for them. There are so many small churches with even smaller budgets that could benefit from professional church themed templates.

I’ve done it with other themes turning them into church sites, although a Youth group template is needed as that is harder to change.

I would definitely be in the market for this. WP is such a perfect solution for church (cheap, easy, straightforward) that is all i want to throw into this mix.

Your theme is ok but a little plain. Church websites are quickly becoming on par with other websites. I think it would be awesome if someone can create WP themes like these.
