hey, i def like making visual effects more then interface stuff…
but, perhaps, for other authors is just the opposite.

so i wonder if any of the “templates guys” could be interested in making a very simple plugin protocol that will allow users to

- buy a template
- buy an intro
- use them together without asking for help

I’ve been thinking about this too, I’d very much like to be able to include other elements on FD in a template, such as bitfades effects. I don’t know how this works with pricing though. Some of the pricing would go to the other author(s) :) win/win

It’ll be a while away for me but I was going to make some sort of plugin module thing for a template in future. I’m sure there are better coders on here then me though :P

I don’t think BitFade is talking about including his intros in a template as much as making it so if you buy both files they work together better than normal. Maybe I’m wrong.

i was thinking about separate items so pricing would not be a problem.

could be done on template, however
1 – more work for template author
2 – a user could believe he gets both items

very true but its better exposure for both authors and as long as you state it clearly that they are seperate items then it shouldn’t be an issue…

You could name the protocol and say that the file is [protocol name] compliant. This means that you cam easily add other files that are [ protocol name] compliant to this template hassle free. For a list of these files, click here. And the link would take you to a page with a list of compatabe components, maybe a new domain.

My 2 cents.

And bitfade, have you already made a protocol and what AS versions do they use? And it’s a protocol which calls a class which can be applied to movieclips dynamically? Also, does the movieclip need to be re-compiled to work?
