Who wants to see the video of Collis’ talk at the WordPress Pressnomics conference in November this year?
Well now you can! It’s live on our YouTube channel! Take a look.
Collis’ talk touched on his experiences with Envato, entrepreneurship, leadership and success. It’s pretty interesting. Sorry for the audio quality at some points though! We’ll work on it for next presentation we record!
Thanks for sharing this Jordan. Btw. nice and VERY FAST speech Collis It’s very hard to follow you 3000 words per minute
Great behind the scenes stuff in the presentation, thanks!
Super hard to follow when he’s talking a million miles an hour.
Hey should speak here in the forums about the future goals and plans with the marketplaces. More and more themes are popping up. It’s good for envato sales but not for us.
So it would be nice when hey came up with a brilliant plan for the future. Instead of chatting about how hey started it all, this is already well known by now. Keeping it running and keeping the people who have made themeforest (among others) happy is more important i think.
PS: Don’t want to sound disrespectful but after so many helpful and negative posts here in the forum it’s about time envato improves their strategies in favor of the ones who have helped them.

I’d say what Collis talked about is actually very, very unknown to the vast majority of people. Pretty sure the fact that Envato essentially started in a men’s bathroom is not widely known.
I was at Pressnomics and saw the presentation live. Truly inspiring. I also got the opportunity to sit down and talk to Collis personally for a while.
Networking with members of the Envato community, and the WordPress community, as he did at Pressnomics, is extremely valuable to Envato and all of its marketplace members.
I spent a while personally talking with Collis about how to improve the marketplaces for authors, so saying that he wasn’t working to improve the sites simply isn’t true at all.
Collis told me personally that one of his goals with going to Pressnomics was to directly interact with prominent members of the marketplace and WordPress community and to get their feedback on how to improve the ecosystem in the Envato marketplaces.
I have noting but respect for the dude.
