if comments aren’t your preferred support channel, we direct them to the support tab just above the comment field :) We put more visual emphasis on the tab (and how to find it) over time.

Sorry folks, that was a small miscommunication and configuration blunder from me — we shipped with just themes, but most categories on CodeCanyon now have this too. We’re happy to add this to any category that could benefit from it, so definitely speak up!

I notice that I cannot use any headings in the support area description even though the link for ‘You may use limited HTML/Textile formatting here (a, b, p, strong, em, i, br, ul, ol, li).’ says we can use h3 and h4….

We should remove that link — for now, this textarea has a more limited sub-set of HTML than we use elsewhere. Feel free to email me the text you want to include there that requires a heading hierarchy so that I can get as feel it’s importance!

I was just hoping to use headings so they would be larger and more defined compared to words that I use strong on. Right now the only way I have is to type uppercase and make strong to appear different than a strong word inside a paragraph of text.

Nothing special just basic good formatting was what I was hoping for.

It might be too little, but we also want to avoid epic rants if we can ;) Feel free to email me or link to a copy of the content you want to include, so that I can see what you’re trying to achieve. Handling common questions up front smells like a great use case for an FAQ maybe (although they’re per-item, not across all items)?

You can check my support tab on any item, that is the minimum I could get, just that I wanted to add profile page link anchor here and there or some external resources for “No Support” cases.

Also I need some more space for some additional info such as “check my item page for update changelog” and “to get latest update redownload at your downloads page” or “you can install Envato toolkit to get update notification” or perhaps this info would go as static page on the item support tab already.

I’m sorry if someone else already said this, but there are over 180 comments already…
I haven’t heard of this before and I think it’s an important change (my files were saying “no support” and I do provide support!). In my opinion Envato should email all authors when important changes like this happen.
Anyway thanks, because this is another great new feature ;)
