There does seem to be A LOT going on with the header these days. I count four different bars today. The bundle banner, the real header, the site switcher, and the category picker.

There’s actually 7 on your author pages like your dashboard – absolutely horrendous stuff.

  1. Bundle banner
  2. Envato Marketplaces with Make Money etc etc
  3. All the marketplaces all the times
  4. Categories
  5. Breadcrumb
  6. Page Title
  7. Tabbed areas

I’ve been banging on about the nav in this thread: http://codecanyon.net/forums/thread/hub-header-launching-tomorrow/116220 for ages but haven’t once had a response from Justin or Envato, who only respond to comments about design tweaks that can easily be fixed.

From the perspective of a customer, I find the navigational structure, regardless of aesthetics, user unfriendly and unintuitive.

Disappointing to see these concerns completely ignored and the design team are now moving on to tweak some more colours.

Nice small incremental update. Good work Justin, Tom & Ben!

Without knowing “incremental update” towards what – the change of BG is unnecessary time waste for authors. And since the survey results doesn’t going to reflect any change of plan / proposal (look at the past records), it would be better to just make these changes and proceed to the next phase. I mean informing about next major upgrade would more likely helpful for authors rather than answering survey questions – for ultra minor changes.

Some authors use images in their item descriptions and profiles that rely on (or try to match) our existing grey background.
That’s why I use transparent PNG :D

Yeppp, me too! :)

Anyway, as I don’t like totally flat design.. I don’t like also this new one.
Too minimal, almost cheap.

It’s mentioned in the first paragraph of Justins post:

We’re much happier with the visual style used in some of the more recent features we’ve shipped (like author payments or bookmarks), and these are the first few steps to bring everything else up to the same style.

It’s mentioned in the first paragraph of Justins post:

If the first paragraph info was the only reason for BG color change, the change is not even needed as it requires making little unstable item description images added by authors (throughout the marketplace). And the change is just 1 hexadecimal number as per hex code and the difference is too little to even consider. There is no logic in decisions as well as survey.
