The title font feels kind of heavy.

I can summarize my thoughts about changing the background color with:

No, please no! :O

I’ve spent a lot of time building profile page with categories and I’ve already finished a new way to link to my other items in description, using the current grey :crying:

I would like to spend next weeks doing new music instead of make transparencies!

Like I wrote in the survey, it could be a better idea creating a system in the description space which gives the ability to authors to select related items, because for what I’m seeing this is the main reason why authors use images in descriptions.

Regarding background color change: PLEASE NO. It’s a minor improve (not to discuss if it improves something, in fact) and will force all of us to spend valious time on updating images on ALL our items. Focus on other things, or better, go for a drink, Melbourne must be wonderful at this moment of the year! :P

I filled the survey too.

Instead of criticizing everything that the developers are changing on the Marketplaces, we should help them.

How? By improving the images we use in the items descriptions (as stated by Carmen in another forum post), also by reducing the number of marketing images used to promote the items (I honestly hope to see the day when images are not allowed anymore in the descriptions) and especially we should stop complaining about everything!

I find it strange when authors put their entire portfolio of flyers on every item description. Is that an seo thing or something? Because it’s really unnecessary… :D

Im kinda perplexed by all this. The emphasis now on this and other threads seems to be edging towards png24 type images, so that a degree of uniformity is present.

Generally tho png24 are huge.

So why not go the old myspace route, and allow users to fully customise their items profile, everthing from fonts colours, backgrounds the full css experience.

You don’t have to use png 24 bit you can use png 8 bit – just not in photoshop. Export as png 24 bit from photoshop and then use a proper png optimizer (which photoshop doesn’t have) at something like tinypng.org – you’ll be amazed.

Jonathan

EDIT: please don’t allow full customization to everyone, we’ll have animated gifs of kittens and unicorns and flashing thingies everywhere. However, some customization (maybe profile pages) would be very nice indeed.
