I hear everybody here is backing up to another hdd, but what if that breaks down or even worse, there’s a fire/flood? Web based solutions people. (Amazon aws)

Use amazon / iDisc aswell as backing up to other harddrives too! What if there is a fire/flood where the amazon servers are? Hmm… :)

Cloud hosting :)

Even if that’s not the case, I know of smaller local companies that have emergency mechanisms that transfer data from one server station to another in case of a flood/fire.

Wow that’s awesome :) I think we can agree that you can never have your data in too many places at once :)

Personally I use Time Machine to backup my laptop, and any critical files are either on my server or in Dropbox.
