Hi everyone,

Just needed to ask that I have made an agreement with a themeforest author to develop it’s PSD into Drupal. Can I upload the Drupal theme from my account? Will themeforest accept it?

Yes as long as you have proof of the agreement

No this wrong, it doesn’t depend on the license you buy, it’s between authors only.

Are you sure? I have contacted staff regarding this and their reply was (quoting):

“Yes, others may convert your item with your permission. However, the two are conditions are that they purchase an extended license of your item, and they only sell the converted item within the Envato marketplaces. “

That’s completely wrong. Who told you that?

You can sell the converted item where you want but you still need the designers permission

You do not need to buy an extended license to convert an item you both just have to at least sign a contract

As said, this is answer from support staff when asked if I can sell my PSD rights. But I totaly agree with you now, what they have said makes no sense.

Thanks for your replies, but will I need to buy extended license or not?

No! I am working with several developers converting my themes to other CMSs and no one ever needed to purchase an extended license from me.

Hey there!

Could you ask the .PSD Author to open a Support Ticket with us and verify your collaboration? This should reduce any delays in the upload process.

Thanks!
