Title pretty much sums it up; how much would it generally cost to have a coder/programmer make your design into a functional HTML /CSS template, and seperately a Wordpress theme?

It all depends on features and how complex is it to code.

I realize that but I’m not asking for an exact value… More like a general range. I’ll try to give a few ‘general’ specifics.

jQuery enhanced (navigation menu/drop-down/child menus, image slider, and contact page)
Rather simple design scheme (2/3 column design, fixed)

I know you’re looking for a range but this really depends on who you hire and their rate/current workload.

I’m sure you could find someone who would do it for as low as $400, but you’ll get what you pay for.

I’d say $800-$2,500 (even higher if advanced features are need) depending on the features needed and the details of the project. This is a ballpark guess at best, I personally can never price a project without knowing every minute detail as they all come into play at some point ;)

Edit – To be clear, I’m not making an offer, just giving you my thoughts ;)

As others mentioned, that really depends on a lot of factors – complexity of your design, extras features, advanced backend interface etc.

Our standard price for WP conversion in case of an average time consuming solution is somewhere around $1500.

Most PSD to xHTML places will charge you $200-$400. And you can probably get cheaper coding on various forums, somewhere around $50-$80.

Well I can handle a basic conversion to XHTML /CSS just fine, but when you throw Javascript and PHP into the mix I have no idea what is going on… Although just yesterday I got a jQuery navigation plugin to work, besides child menus anyway.

My cost would be in the range of $750-1000 for the PHP /WordPress conversion but that could go higher with lots of custom or advanced jQuery on the client side, or more than normal levels of server side code development.

I am also looking for a high end designer who might be interested in collaborating (profit sharing)... :)
