Charity is more about secrecy.
if you do it to get a badge (better reputation) then we are missing the point.
I do spend some money on charity but i do it to help less fortunate.
plus i think if i give i’ll get 10x more..
(dont fall in the trap: Don’t give all your money just to 10x it.
that won’t work.. you must have the heart in it )

I think the idea is great! I like the concept of the public badge as well, as it would allow people who are not aware of the program to learn about it and potentially get involved. The charity could be picked by Envato and it could rotate monthly. I think whatever the charities ended up being, they should be international like the marketplaces.
Thanks for sharing your idea Dzinc!

+1 ! Count me in. Many places in the world needs help. Let’s contribute with our way, through Envato’s markeplaces.
If the charity thing is happening i am ready to get involved. and feels that all the money collected from the items sold ‘ld go to charity (means 100% ) 50% from envato & 50% from authors as well. apart from that we all should know where & which charity the money has gone with all the proofs. because we dont want any other charity scam.
For those authors who’s commission rate is above 50% like for example 65%. then 15% of that money should be given to authors and ENVATO should pay that 15% from their pocket means 65% from ENVATO & 50% from Authors. As ENVATO is a big marketplace so they should in one or the other way contribute more then Authors. As many authors like me are small authors

Hi guys, thank you all for the feedback so far. The time and patience dedicated to this thread shows great interest and potential. I’m sure Envato will take that into consideration when deciding if they should or should not be involved, thus implementing or not the suggestions here presented.
I’ve read some excellent thoughts and ideas, which shows I am not alone in the quest to, with art, help those in serious need. Little by little, surely we can begin, and Envato’s direct participation is fundamental and of immense importance.
One aspect I’d like to point out once again is that authors should only invest with art. Authors contribute with creating, while Envato contributes with the implementation and deliverance. The objective here is to donate the money raised through the sales of donated items, nothing more.
Neither authors nor Envato should invest their own money in this idea, as I’m very much aware that they already do wonders for charity. All that is asked of Envato is that they provide us with the appropriate site features that allow us to donate our items so they are published in one charity account and made available for sale. Furthermore, making sure the money raised in this account goes to the appropriate trusted charities.
It is my belief that this is the easiest and most practical way we can all come together and do some good in the world through the marketplaces. Using art to heal the ugliness that surrounds us.
For those of you who have not yet participated in this thread, please continue to give your feedback and share your thoughts. Thank you.
I haven’t read all the thread, so please fill me in:
Are you suggesting we make items and gives our money to charity? because that’s ridiculous, we don’t spend time working for nothing…..I’d like this idea if:
Some of the money envato gets from our items would go to charity.

I do suggest, if you have the time, to read the whole thread. The more information you have, the better you can understand and comment about what’s going on.
I am not suggesting anybody to give money. I am simply suggesting, for those who want, of course, to have the option of contributing an item which will go to charity.
Just a reminder, no one has to contribute anything. If you don’t want to donate a creation that’s perfectly fine. In the end, I am only suggesting the implementation of an option for those who indeed do want to contribute with their art.
The suggested option can he found here:

I think it’s a great idea, Dzinc. Hope it’s managable as an option here on AJ.
I am in ,and i hope the idea will get to its realization!
