Can anyone give a brief explanation as to why Firefox on Mac would be different for crossbrowsing than a PC. They are subtle yet noticeable.

Also, can anyone suggest a good way to combat this? Well other than parallels or bootcamp or whatever.

Man, if you find a decent solution to this you’ll solve yours, mine and A LOT of other peoples problem with this! So far, there are really only a couple decent options, like Parallels, Bootcamp or running IE within another type of virtualization environment…

I think the only real difference is font rendering. I don’t know for sure though. There’s no way around that either.

Are you saying the only difference is font rendering between Mac Mozilla and PC?

Is that why pixels are off on let’s say a menu?

As far as I know it is. If by menu, you meant the fonts in the menu, then probably. I actually don’t have problems with FF between Mac/Win except for the differences in font rendering.
