Is it really that big a deal? Just hit refresh.
also, smudgethis, i see u are an author here who has made a bit of money. i am a customer here who has spent a bit of money and my concerns should be yours. cause without buyers there ARE no sellers. u sold over 50k and i have bought about three hundred items. think about that before minimizing the concerns of somebody who brings money to the damn table.

I understand your frustration, but we as authors here cannot do anything regarding that. p.s. Can’t you save the passwords with your browser? On my pc I never type the passwords, they’re automatically saved.

wow louis, you need to relax!

I am pretty sure that envato actually helps you make money too as you’re using the work sold here in your clients’ projects..

Cut the guys some slack! Envato helps so many people make a living out of the creative digital media, should it be by producing items for sale or by using amazing pieces of work to include in projects.. Would you rather have spammers and fake accounts created all over the place?

Have you really been incapable to log in the envato site in front of your clients because of a reCAPTCHA? hmmm

I don’t mean to be minimising your concerns. I occasionally have to hit refresh once or twice when logging in on a computer that is not my own (I too have all my passwords stored in my personal laptop keychain) and it can be a tiny bit annoying, but I would rather have the added security of the Captcha system than have rogue accounts accessing the funds which I have earned from sales.

@Louis.

I hear your concerns and maybe there is a better solution to recaptcha. I also understand that where money is changing hands on the internet, that security is paramount. I’ll flag the thread for staff reply and see if they can shed any light on the matter.

Personally, I only need to sign in once every couple of weeks. Is that different for you? If not, then your browser is probably not set up to remember passwords. That might be the best solution in the interim. If you’re having to solve recaptchas every single time that you use the site, then I can understand your frustration.

One thing I would like to ask though, is that you keep the forums friendly. This is a place where ideas are exchanged freely. Other users are perfectly entitled to have a different opinion to you.

Thanks.

there is no excuse on asking to solve captcha on first try and there is no excuse on not using https login.

just look at google, probably way more targeted by hackers, spammers, and you don’t need to solve a captcha every time you log in. it also has https.

Block account after X failed attempts would probably foil the bots too for a login.

@Doru… without https, are passwords sent completely in the clear? That strikes me as a security hole.

Don’t know if they send the password in clear, maybe there is some sort of encryption implemented.

not that https is bullet proof, off course
