Customize a GPL license plugin to sell

Hi,

I have a wordpress plugin that is under GPL license. I asked the plugin author “Can I create new skins for this plugin to sell? ”, he answered, “to me, no problem”.

Now I am wondering is it against marketplace laws?

If the author agreed with that, I can’t find any reason why would they decline your file. However the best way is to contact support, they can give you a straight answer to your question.
